This year, the winning teams of the global UC program are the bone fillings of the UC medical school, a project led by Alex Vargas, which consists of a material based on calcium phosphate for the repair of bone and vascular tissue in the mandibular area. Another project is the anti-seismic devices of the UC, a project led by José Luis Almazán, flexible supports that are installed in the base of liquid containers, which protect the storage structures against the earthquake of a large scale.

“One of the challenges we have with the university is to be able to link them with the industry and meet their needs in the early stages. What we achieve with these meetings is show their technologies, so that the industry validates its interest to promote the future development. “Álvaro Ossa, Transfer Director of the Catholic University.

The ceremony was held in the Dining Room of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and was divided into two moments: The presentation of bone fillers, attended by representatives of Estudio Carey, Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Pharma Care, Zimmer Dental, the Association of Maxillofacial surgery from Chile and highly prestigious maxillofacial surgeons. On the other hand, representatives of ENAP, Codelco, Golden Omega and Antofagasta Minerals were present at the session of the Anti-Seismic Devices.
